Reserve Bank of India – Grade A and B officer Examination 2018


Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is the central bank, which controls the monetary policy of the country. It regulates all the banks and provides essential financial services like inflation control, the issue of currency, storage of foreign exchange reserves etc. From 2015, RBI has started conducting a national-level recruitment examination for selection of its grade A and B level officers.

What is the scheme of selection?

Under the new scheme of selection the examination will be computer based (Objective type with Multiple Choice Question pattern) and consists of two phases, viz., Phase-I and Phase-II, followed by Interview. While Phase-I examination will continue as per existing Phase-I examination for Grade-‘B’ (DR), Phase-II examination will consist of three papers of which two will be compulsory papers and one optional paper. The compulsory papers are Paper-I on ‘English’ and Paper-II on ‘Economic and Social Issues'. The optional Paper- Paper-III will have options of subjects, viz., ‘Finance & Management’ or ‘Economics’ or ‘Statistics’. In Phase-II the paper on 'English' will be descriptive type and computer based, i.e. to be typed on computer screen with the help of the keyboard. Prospective candidates are advised that Phase-II of the examination will be conducted within two to three weeks of Phase-I of the examination. The new scheme of selection is furnished in the Annex-A. The RBI Grade B recruitment test comprises of three stages: Phase I, Phase II (both Online), and an interview. The test takes place every year in the month of June with notification being released in May.

What are the vacancies?

About 400 vacancies to be expected through RBI Grade A and B 2018 notification for all the Officers posts. The exam date, time and venue details will be published on RBI website rbi.org.in.

The Reserve Bank of India will release RBI Grade A and B 2018 recruitment notification for the following posts. For each positions different eligibility requirements sets by the bank such as number of maximum attempts, qualification, age, etc.
