How to apply for Civil Service Exam 2019?


The Application Procedure for the Civil Services Examination has been changed to online. The candidates can no longer send postal application forms, instead they are advised to apply Online by using the website: https://www.upsconline.nic.in.

  1. After entering site, click on 'Online application for various examinations of UPSC'
  2. Place the mouse over the 'Examination' menu. The link would display a set of two options namely 'PART-I Registration' and 'PART-II Registration'.
  3. Clicking on 'PART-I Registration' link would take you to the list of all the active examinations, where you can select to apply for any of the listed examination by clicking on the link 'Click Here' against each exam.

Candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate 3 weeks before the date of examination. The e-Admission Certificate will be available on www.upsc.gov.in for downloading by candidates. No Admission Certificate will be sent by post to the applicants.

What are options for fee payment ?


There are three options for fee payment for candidates.

  1. The candidates can pay cash at any branch of State Bank of India (SBI) through pay in slip which is generated through the online application process.
  2. Candidates can also pay through Internet Banking using State Bank of India, State Bank of Bikaner, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Patiala, State Bak of Travancore.
  3. Candidates can pay through online using any Visa/ Master Debit or Credit Card.

NOTE 4 : Candidates should have the scanned images of their photograph and signature # in .jpg format and each photographs should not exceed 40 KB in size and must not be less than 3 KB. That is size for the photograph and 1 KB in size for the signature. Candidates applying online need not send hard copy of the Online Application filled by them online or any other document/certificate/testimonial to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). But they should take a printout of the online application, for future communication.
