Sub-Inspector CPO Examination
This examination is conducted by SSC for the numerous posts at all India level such as Sub-Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Assistant Sub-Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Sub-Inspector in Border Security Force (BSF), Sub-Inspector in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sub-Inspector in Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF), Sub-Inspector in Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Intelligence Officer in Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
There is only one written examination and a physical, medical test and interview. There is some relaxation in height for the candidates who belong to North-Eastern Region.
SSC CPO written test for the posts of Sub Inspector, Assistant Sub Inspector and Intelligence Officers consist of two papers PAPER-I and PAPER-II.
Paper: 1 carries total 200 marks and consists of 200 questions for each section. Questions in this part are both in Hindi and English in the area of General Intelligence and Reasoning Test, General Knowledge and General Awareness Test, Numerical Aptitude Test and English Comprehension Test.
PAPER-II comprises of subject English language & Comprehension. The duration of this stage is two hours. In this part, there are 200 questions and consists of 200 marks.
Nagative Marking: There will be negative marking for each wrong answer and deduction of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
After qualifying written test, there is Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Medical Test. Candidates must have to go through PET / Medical Examination. It is required to clear Eligibility and Physical Endurance Test (PET) and medical test to appear in the Personality Test / Interview.
Interview will be based on the combined performance in Paper I and II of the written examination.
Tips for Interview:
Candidates must be prepared for conditional interview in which behavior of the candidates in a particular condition is assessed. Aspirant's personal opinion will be most important for such type of interview. There is also performance related interview in which questions about earlier experience on particular topics can be asked. Candidate's behavior on some matters of concern will be asked.
Some general question will be asked to test the awareness of candidates. Additionally, interviewers also test stress level under extreme conditions. They may provoke candidates through bad comments to check their tolerance level. These are some of the areas that candidates have to prepare to face the interview. Therefore they must make plan to deal with the interview questions to qualify in this exam.
