New CBSE Curriculum

From the academic year 2006-07, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, India will introduce the new revised Curriculum in three different phases begins from April, 2006.

The first phase, covering Classes I, III, VI, IX and XI, is to be introduced in the academic year 2006-07, which has been announced in a circular sent by the Board.

The second phase (2007-08) is for Classes II, IV, VII, X and XII, and the third phase (2008-09) is to cover Class V and VIII. For classes I to VII, CBSE prescribes the syllabi designed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).

No separate syllabus is available/published by the Board. This can be downloaded from the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) website.

For classes IX to XII, CBSE will be releasing the Secondary School Curriculum - 2008 and Senior School Curriculum - 2008 shortly.
