SSC Junior Hindi Translator Examination
The selection criteria for Junior Hindi Translator Examination is written test followed by an interview. Candidates who apply for this post must not exceed 30 years of age. Educational Qualification is the Master's Degree in English/Hindi with Hindi/ English as a compulsory and elective subject at Degree level or Bachelor's Degree with Hindi and English as main subjects (which includes the term compulsory and elective).
In Paper-I, there are questions on General Hindi and General English. Questions in this sections are developed to assess candidate's understanding and knowledge of Hindi & English Languages. It is based on error recognition, fill in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, vocabulary, spellings, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completion, correct use of words, phrases and idioms, ability to write language correctly and precisely. The exam is for two hour duration and carries 100 marks for Hindi and 100 marks for English.
Paper-II consists of Translation and Essay which is based on traditional style of questions. This paper comprises of two passages for translation, one passage for translation from Hindi to English and one passage for translation from English to Hindi, and an Essay each in Hindi & English which will test the candidates' translation skills and their ability to write the two languages properly, accurately and effectively.
Section: 2In this section, there is a Personality test/ Interview which carries100 marks. The interview/personality test is designed to test the candidates' interests, knowledge, various traits, aptitude, and suitability through academic qualifications, experience, extra-curricular activities, general awareness/knowledge, and depth of knowledge of the subjects studied, communication skills and general personality.
