Exam Pattern Of Indian Army Soldiers General Duty (NER) Examination


For the Indian Army Soldiers General Duty (NER) Examination, eligible candidates will be required to appear for a written test. The pattern of the written Exam and the physical fitness test is discussed in this page. Common Entrance Examination (CEE) is conducted on 4th Sunday of Jan, Mar, May, Jul. Sep & Nov. for recruitment of Soldiers.

Written Test

Eligible candidates will be required for a written test in

  • General Intelligence
  • Mathematical Aptitude
  • General Knowledge

Questions in these tests will be Objective Type and bilingual, i.e., in Hindi and English. Time allowed is 45 minutes and maximum marks are 100. Only those found fit will be put through aptitude test and INTFRVIEW. Final selection will be on Merit.

Physical Fitness Tests (PFT)

To determine the Physical Fitness, the following tests carrying 100 marks are held:

  1. 1 MileRun
  2. Pull Ups
  3. Balance
  4. 9 Feet Ditch
