Exam Pattern Of Indian Bank Clerks Examination 2015


INDIAN BANK, a leading Public Sector Bank, with headquarters in Chennai having geographical presence all over India and abroad invites online applications from Indian Citizens who have taken the Common Written Examination (CWE) for PROBATIONARY OFFICERS conducted by IBPS in September/November 2015 and have a valid Score card issued by IBPS.

Candidates are requested to apply online only through our Bank's website www.indianbank.in. No other means/ mode of application will be accepted

IBPS SCORE REQUIREMENT:

Candidates should have obtained the valid IBPS score in each test and in aggregate i.e. Total Weighted Standard Score (as mentioned below) in the common written examination conducted for Probationary Officers in 2015. Candidates should be able to produce the Score card in support of the scores mentioned in the online application form, if called for interview.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. NATIOINALITY/CITIZENSHIP

    A candidate must be either i) a citizen of India or ii) a subject of Nepal or iii) a subject of Bhutan or iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1stJanuary 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar (formerly Burma), Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika), Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) or (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the interview and/or Group Discussion conducted by the Bank but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the eligibility certificate from the Government of India in this regard is submitted.

  2. Educational Qualifications:

    Graduation in any discipline (Second Class with 55% aggregate marks / equivalent CGPA)

    1. All Educational qualifications, Graduation/ Post Graduation etc. shall be from a University recognized by Government of India. Technical qualification (BE, B Tech, MBA etc.) shall be from an institution accredited by AICTE/ UGC recognition required wherever applicable.
    2. Candidates must possess the qualification as on 01.07.2015.
    3. The candidates should have proficiency in appropriate computer skills / working knowledge of application packages used in office automation/ computer environment.
    4. In respect of SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates, relaxation in minimum mark for educational qualification will be allowed upto 5% wherever minimum qualifying marks are stipulated.

Note: Candidates must specifically indicate the class / division and percentage of marks obtained calculated to the nearest two decimals in the relevant column of the application. Where no percentage of marks is awarded by the University but only CGPA / OGPA is awarded, the same should be converted into percentage.

DEFINITION OF EX-SERVICEMEN (EXSM)

  1. EX-SERVICEMEN (EXSM) :Only those candidates shall be treated as Ex-Serviceman who fulfill the revised definition as laid down in Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms Notification No. 36034/5/85 Estt. (SCT) dated 27.10.1986 as amended from time to time.
  2. DISABLED EX-SERVICEMEN (DISXS) : Ex-Servicemen who while serving in Armed Forces of the Union were disabled in operation against the enemy or in disturbed areas shall be treated as disabled ex-servicemen.
  3. DEPENDENTS OF SERVICEMEN KILLED IN ACTION (DXS): Servicemen killed in the following operations would be deemed to have been killed in action attributable to military service
    1. war
    2. war like operations or Border skirmishes either with Pakistan on cease fire line or any other country
    3. fighting against armed hostilities in a counter insurgency environment viz. Nagaland, Mizoram, etc.
    4. serving with peace keeping mission abroad
    5. laying or clearance of mines including enemy mines as also mine sweeping operation between one month before and three months after conclusion of an operation
    6. frost bite during actual operations or during the period specified by the Government
    7. dealing with agitating para-military forces personnel
    8. IPKF Personnel killed during the operations in SriLanka.

NOTE:

  1. Candidates still serving in Defence and desirous of applying under Ex-Servicemen category should submit a certificate from the Competent Authority to the effect that they would be released / retired on or before 30.06.2015.
  2. Ex-Servicemen candidates who have already secured employment under the Central Government in Group 'C' & 'D' / Public Sector Undertakings will be permitted the benefit of age relaxation as prescribed for Ex-Servicemen for securing another employment in a higher grade or cadre in Group 'C' / 'D' under the Central Government / Public Sector Undertakings. However, such candidates will not be eligible for the benefit of reservation for Ex-Servicemen in Central Government / Public Sector Undertakings jobs.
  3. An Ex-Serviceman who has once joined the Government job on the civil side after availing of the benefits given to him as an Ex-Servicemen for his reemployment, his ex-serviceman status for the purpose of reemployment in job ceases.

Relaxation in Upper Age Limit:

Ex-serviceman 3 years ( in addition to the actual period of service in the Defence forces subject to a maximum age of 50 years)
Widows, Divorced women and women Judiciously separated from their husbands, who are not remarried. 9 years subject to a maximum of 35 years for General Category, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC/ST Category candidates.
Persons ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 5 years (Certificate to this effect from the competent authority to be produced at the time of interview)
The children/family members of those who died in the 1984 riots 5 years

Note : In case of a candidate who is eligible for relaxation under more than one of the above categories, the age relaxation will be available on cumulative basis with any one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted as mentioned above. This cumulative age relaxation is available to SC / ST / OBC only.
