General Instructions

  1. The Bank is free to reject any application, at any stage of the recruitment process, if the candidate is found ineligible for the post. The decision of the Bank in any matter relating to recruitment at all the stages of the recruitment process will be final and binding upon the candidate. No correspondence or personal queries in this regard shall be entertained by the Bank.
  2. Only candidates willing to serve anywhere in India need apply.
  3. Any dispute arising out of this advertisement shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of courts situated at NCT of Delhi.
  4. Use of calculators, mobile phones, pagers or any other instruments during the written examination is strictly prohibited.
  5. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
  6. All candidates will have to produce, if called for interview, originals as well as attested photocopies of their educational and experience certificates as well as caste certificate, certificate of handicap or any other certificate in support of their eligibility, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
  7. Candidates serving in Government/Public Sector Undertakings (including banks) must produce a ´No Objection Certificate´ from their employer if called for interview, failing which their candidature may not be considered.
  8. Any request for change of address will not be entertained.
  9. In case of any dispute on account of interpretation in any version other than English, the English version shall prevail.
  10. Candidates will appear for the written examination at the allotted centres at their own expense and risk and the Bank will not be responsible for any injury/losses etc. of any nature.
  11. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their being declared medically fit as per the requirements of the Bank. Such appointment will also be subject to the Service & Conduct Rules of the Bank.

How To Apply

Online application registration on our website will be open (24 hours) from 25.10.2010 to 24.11.2010

To apply, candidates should first log onto our website www.obcindia.co.in under item recruitment and results at the bottom of the home page under title application for the post of clerks

Candidates should then take a printout of the fee payment receipt which should be filled in a clear and legible handwriting in block letters

Application fee may be paid in cash at any of the branches of Oriental Bank of Commerce only before applying online. Candidate must ensure that on deposit of fee in current A/C No 00071011002147 the branch issues a receipt which should invariably mention under-noted items;

  • Transaction ID
  • Branch name
  • Branch code number
  • Date of deposit and
  • Amount

The payment of fees should be made on or before 24.11.2010. This date will be same for the candidates belonging to far-flung areas

Applications once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and the application fee/postage once paid shall not be refunded nor shall it be held in reserve for any other examination

After payment, the candidate must collect the payment receipt; the particulars thereof are to be quoted in the on line application and the original receipt must be produced along with the call letter at the time of the written test

Please note that even if the date for online registration is extended the dates for payment of application fee will remain unchanged i.e. 25.10.2010 to 24.11.2010

Payment of application fee and/or postal charges by demand draft/cheques/money orders/postal rrder etc will not be accepted

Candidates are now ready to apply online by re-visiting the recruitment link on the Bank´s website to open up the online application form

Carefully fill in the details from the fee payment receipt in the online application form at the appropriate places. Fill in all other required details therein and click on the submit button at the end of the online application form

After applying online, take a print out of system generated online application form and retain it for future reference. Candidates are advised to keep a copy of the application print-out and fee payment receipt for their record. They should not send the printout or the fee payment receipt to the Bank

Call letters for the written examination

All eligible candidates will be issued call letters at the correspondence address given by the candidate in their application form, which will be sent by ordinary post. An eligible candidate who does not receive the call letter by 03.01.2011 may download the call letter from the bank´s website along with the information handout between 04.01.2011 to 08.01.2011
