Clerks

The clerks are the initial introducer to the customer in the bank. Customers approach the clerk for doubt clarification and personal guidance in the bank. They are responsible for the different mode of transaction in the bank. The clerks also hold the responsibility to hold the back office work like receipt collection, ledger maintenance, balance tally and other transactions. Additionally they are responsible for the marketing products of the bank like loans, deposits, schemes of the bank.

Typist (English and Hindi)

The typists are responsible for the process of written communication. They need good listening, verbal, interpersonal skill to process their work coordinating the office staffs. The typing speed must be 30 words per minute for English and 25 for Hindi without error.

Stenographer (English and Hindi)

Stenographer job is highly skilled job which requires extensive training in shorthand and highly trained persons to handle stenotype machine. Stenography is the professional who can translate any language into coded language through shorthand and and reconvert into original language. The speed of 60 words per minute in Hindi and 80 words in English and minimum 25 words in Hindi and 30 words in English .

Agricultural clerks

Agricultural clerks are the clerks to promoting rural financing, disbursal of agricultural loans, review of agricultural loans, coordination with NABARD and RRB.

Clerk-cum-Cashier

Clerk –cum-Cashier is the person who monitors the day to day transactions in the bank. They had to deal with the liquidity of the bank carefully or else they have to pay for their mistakes. Clerk-cum-Cashier had to work hard with commitment and honesty.

Salary prospects for Clerical posts

Clerks

The salary prospect for clerks is Rs.14,500-15,500.The salary will be gradually increased after completing the service of one year annually. The clerk enjoys dearness allowance, house rent allowance, medical allowance up to his service in the bank.

Typist (English and Hindi)

The Salary prospects for typist is Rs.20, 000.The salary will be gradually increased after completing the service of one year annually. The typist enjoys dearness allowance; house rent allowance, medical allowance up to his service in the bank.

Stenographer (English and Hindi)

The Salary prospect for stenographer is RS 23, 7341. The salary will be gradually increased after completing the service of one year annually. The stenographer enjoys dearness allowance; house rent allowance, medical allowance up to his service in the bank.

Agricultural clerks

The Salary prospect for agricultural clerks is Rs.19, 500 per month inclusive of D.A. The salary will be gradually increased after completing the service of one year annually. The agricultural clerk enjoys dearness allowance; house rent allowance, medical allowance up to his service in the bank.

Clerk-cum-Cashier

The Salary prospect for clerk-cum- cashier is Rs.15, 000-Rs18, 000.The salary will be gradually increased after completing the service of one year annually. The clerk-cum-cashier enjoys dearness allowance; house rent allowance, medical allowance up to his service in the bank.

Clerk-cum-Go down Keeper

Clerks

Bank provides the position of clerk to advance in their carrier. They can take up departmental examination for promotion after a period of three to four years.

Typist (English and Hindi)

Promotions prospects for Clerical posts

Clerks
There are two types of clerical to officer promotion
  • Normal/seniority channel
  • Merit/Fast track channel
Normal/Seniority Channel

The clerk has to qualify the written exam and on the basis of his experience and seniority in the service of bank he can be selected as an officer. In this process JAIIB (Junior Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers) and CAIIB (Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers) diploma is compulsory.

Merit/Fast Track channel

Two years minimum experience as clerk with a JAIIB (Junior Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers) and CAIIB (Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers) diploma conducted by Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) is must with a graduate/post graduate degree.

Stenographer (English and Hindi)

Stenographer can get promoted to higher cadres after clearing the departmental examination for quick promotion.

Agricultural clerks

Agricultural clerks can get promoted to officer cadres after clearing the departmental examination for promotion after completing two years of service. The clerk who wants to appear for Trainee Officer has to complete three year of service along with diploma of CAIIB or minimum 4 years of service along with JAIIB.

They understand different jobs of the bank. They get promotion after completing the required service to attain the higher position.
