Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board has been conducting SSLC exam (Secondary School Leaving Certificate Exam) and other Examinations, which came in to existence in the year 1966.
For the academic year, March 2006 incredibly, about 8.5 Lakhs students appeared for the SSLC examinations. The board has been successfully conducted the examination since it was established. Apart from conducting the SSLC Examination, the board conducts other exams as well and possesses other responsibilities too such as deciding to improve the evaluation system and the results etc.
Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board was the first secondary education Board in India that ventured to conduct the supplementary examination for the unsuccessful candidates of the examination of March in June month of every year itself which will enable the students who would be successful in the June examination to join higher education courses from July itself.
