The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education

The Goa Board of Secondary (10th class) and Higher Secondary (10+2 class) Education is a corporate statutory Body established by an Act of the Government of Goa. The Board is an autonomous and self financing organization without any regular grants from the Govt. he objective of The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education is, apart from granting recognition to the Secondary and higher Secondary schools and conduct of secondary and higher secondary exam, the Board advises the state Government on policy matters relating to secondary and higher secondary education in general and on the following matters in particular in ensuing a uniform pattern of education:

Maintaining of uniform standard of education in Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
Co-ordination between the national policies and policies of the state in respect of secondary and higher secondary Education.
Co-ordination between primary, secondary, higher secondary and University education.

Examinations Conducted

The Board conducts the following public examinations:

Secondary School Certificate Examination in March /April
Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination in March/April
Secondary School Certificate Examination in October
Higher Secondary Certificate Exam in June/July wef July
