Commonwealth Split-Site Doctoral Scholarship

Applications are invited for the award of Commonwealth Split-site Doctoral Scholarship only for the academic year 2010 offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom. Scholarships are available in all disciplines including Medicine and Dentistry.

Eligibility for Commonwealth Split-Site Doctoral Scholarship

Candidate should be a citizen of India.

Educational Requirement for Commonwealth Split-Site Doctoral Scholarship

Qualification Requirement : Hold by 19t October 2010, a first degree of upper second class Honours standard (or above) or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification which will normally be a Master's degree AND in the fields of medicine and dentistry, have qualified between 1 October 2000 and 1 October 2005.

Duration of availability of Funds in Scholarship

12 Months

Effective date of award of scholarship

The scholarship will commence from September/ October 2010 in UK.

Eligible candidates may apply in the prescribed format duly nominated by Vice-Chancellor/ Executive Head of University/ Institute alongwith office seal. Direct application from the applicant will not be entertained,

The applications complete in all respects should reach the UGC office in New Delhi on or before 30th October. 2009 addressed to the Section Officer (IC-II Section), Room No.505, University Grants Commission, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi -110002.

  1. Though there is a provision of scholarship for proposed study in the UK- taught Masters Courses and Clinical training only AND Research Degrees only, the UGC has been authorrzed to entertain appIication for Commonwealth Split Site Doctoral Scholarship only.
  2. The completed application may kindly be sent to the Commission by stipulated date i.e. 30-10-2009 and not atthe convenience of the University/ institution/ candidate.
