Medical Colleges in Pondicherry

JOINT ENTRANCE TEST (JET) is conducted for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in Mahatma Gandhi Dental College and Hospital, Pondicherry and Vinayaka Mission Medical College, Karaikal.

Separate rules regulate admission to MBBS course in Jawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry.

Admission is open to Pondicherry residents except All India PM/PD Test qualifiers. Criteria for Domicile (For Pondicherry candidates)
(i) 5 yrs stay in Pondicherry or
(ii) passed SSLC/HSC and had for that purpose undergone academic studies continuously for 3 successive classes immediately preceding the qualifying exam located in the UT of Pondicherry and having their residence in Pondicherry for 3 yrs.

Exceptions: Children of Central/State Government employees/Public Sector Undertaking serving in Pondicherry; French nationals residing in the UT of Pondicherry.
