CUSAT CAT Examination 2014:

There are only three days remaining for the Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test (CUSAT CAT) 2014. The entrance examination is held to test the eligibility of candidates applying for admission to various courses offered at the university.

The CUSAT CAT 2014 scores will be used for admissions to the following courses:

1. Engineering B. Tech
2. Master of Science M.Sc
3. Law BBA/B.Com LLB, LLM
4. Master of Arts MA
5. Management MBA
6. Master of Computer Applications MCA

Exam paper pattern:

The CUSAT CAT 2014 exam consists of 25 different tests and the candidates have to attempt the test subject required for admission to their desired course.

The question paper for the entrance exam will be based on class 12 syllabus. The exam will be held for a duration of three hours and will consist of 250 objective type questions.

The questions will be divided in the following ratio:

Mathematics: 125 questions
Physics and Chemistry: 125 questions in the ratio 3:2

Marks and Scoring:

The CAT score will be calculated as per the formula, S = 3R - 1W, where S is the CAT score, R is the number of right answers and W is the number of wrong answers.

The candidate will be given three marks for every right answer whereas one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

CUSAT 2014 selection process:

Candidates will be selected for admission on the basis of their performance in CUSAT CAT 2014. Based on the marks, candidates will be selected for merit list where they shall be arranged in increasing order of resultant ranks.

Exam centers:

The entrance exam for the first degree programmes will be conducted on All India basis with test centres at: Dubai, New Delhi,  Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Jamshedpur,  Allahabad, Lucknow, Ranchi, Varanasi, Kota and all the District Head Quarters of Kerala.

For the PG Programmes, 5 year BBA.,LL.B(Hons) / B.Com.,LL.B.(Hons.), MIP.,Ph.D and LL.M.,Ph.D CAT exam centres will be available at all the district head quarters of Kerala.

For the Lateral Entry Test and 3 Year LL.B (regular) (evening) CAT entrance exams will be held at the Ernakulam Centre only.
