Geophysics is major branch of the Earth sciences and sub discipline of Physics. Geophysicists study the physical methods. Data obtained from Geophysical study are used in academics to observe tectonic plate motions and to study the internal structure of the Earth. They use seismic, electrical, magnetic, and radioactive methods to prove theories. Generally the theories and techniques of geophysics are also used in planetary sciences.
  • Geophysics is one of the newer sciences derived from physics. It is the study of the earth’s properties by applying physical theories and using instruments for measurement.
