The Anna University (Chennai) will conduct the 2017 edition of the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) on May 2017 . It is mandatory for students aspiring to join MBA, MCA, ME, MTech, M.Arch and MPlan postgraduate degree courses to appear for the TANCET.
The TANCET will be conducted in various centres in Chennai, Coimbatore, Erode, Karaikudi, Tirunelveli, Vellore, Chidambaram, Salem, Thanjavur, Villupuram, Virudhunagar, Nagercoil, Madurai and Karaikudi, a university press release said. The Notification for TANCET -2017 is officialy announced by University.

Applications are invited for Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2017 to be conducted by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamilnadu from candidates who seek admission to
Degree Programmes for the year 2017 – 2017 offered at University Departments, University Colleges of Engineering, Regional Centres of Anna University, Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges and Arts & Science Colleges and Self-financing Colleges (Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges including standalone Institutions) in Tamilnadu. Some Universities and Self–Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the candidates on the basis of marks obtained in TANCET 2017.
Other State candidates can appear for the entrance tests but, admission is subject to the eligibility conditions of the admitting authority / University.
MBA:
A pass in any Degree with 10 + 2 + 3/4 years pattern or a pass in any Degree with 10 + 3 (Diploma) + 3 years pattern.
MCA:
A pass in any degree with 10 + 2 + 3/4 years pattern with Mathematics at + 2 level or Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level or a pass in 10 + 3 (Diploma) + 3 years pattern with Mathematics at Diploma level or Mathematics / Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level.
M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan.:

Those who are appearing for final year / semester examination of the above qualifying degree in April / May 2017 can also apply for TANCET 2017.
Application Form is common for all the three entrance tests. Candidates have to submit only one application. The candidates have to pay a fee of * 500/- (* 250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu on production of a copy of Permanent Community Certificate in card format) as entrance test fee for any one of the programmes either (1) M.B.A. or (2) M.C.A. or (3) M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan.
If a candidate desires to appear for more than one programme, for every additional programme, he / she has to pay *500/- (* 250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu) Mark Sheet.

Internet Registration: Candidates can register through internet by filling up the application form, download and send it to the address shown under item 5 with the following enclosed:
Copy of X Std. or equivalent mark sheet
Copy of XII Std. mark sheet or 3 YEARS Diploma certificate
The SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu should enclose an attested copy of the permanent community certificate (card format) issued by the competent authority of Government of Tamil Nadu.
Demand Draft.
The completed application forms should reach The Secretary, TANCET, Examination Centre, Anna University Chennai, Chennai 600 025 on or before February 2017 The Applications received after the due date and time will not be considered at any cost.
TANCET 2017 Applications from April 2017 The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of The Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University Chennai, payable at Chennai, obtained from any Nationalized bank.
