AICTE has extended the QIP scheme for polytechnic teachers for M.E/M.Tech. and Ph.D. degree programmes in all the disciplines. The scheme has been named as QIP (Poly). The aim of the scheme is to strengthen the competency of the faculty of Polytechnics and to expose them to emerging areas of technical education. This year, AICTE, New Delhi invites applications for admission to Master´s Programmes (2 years) starting in 2010 – 11 and for advance admission to Doctoral Programme (3 years) for 2010 – 11 leading to final admission in 2011 – 12 academic sessions.

Eligibility

  1. Only permanent faculty members of AICTE recognized polytechnic can apply.
    1. Master´s Programme:
      1. Minimum teaching experience of 3 years as on 17th May, 2010.
      2. Bachelor´s degree or equivalent (minimum qualification) in the appropriate branch and other eligibility criteria prescribed by the individual institution.
    2. Doctoral Programme:
    3. Minimum teaching experience of 5 years as on 17th May, 2010.
    4. Master´s Degree or equivalent (minimum qualification) in the appropriate branch and other eligibility criteria prescribed by the individual institution.
  2. A candidate selected for admission under QIP will have to execute an undertaking to serve his/her parent institution for a minimum period of two years (for M.Tech./ME) and three years (for Ph.D.) after the completion of the programme.
  3. Computer Programmers, System Programmers, Workshop Staff, Guest Lecturer, Visiting Lecturer, Teaching Assistants, Ad-hoc Appointees, Technical Assistants and other such categories of staff are not eligible.

Scholarships And Contingency Grants

For M.Tech/ME Degree Programme: Scholarship of Rs. 4,000/- per month for two years and a contingency grant of Rs. 3,000/- per annum for maximum period of two years.

For Ph.D. Degree Programme: Scholarship of Rs. 9,000/- per month for three years and a contingency grant of Rs. 10,000/- per annum for maximum period of three years.

General Information

  1. The duration of the M.Tech/ME Programmes will be 24 months and of Doctoral Programme will be 36 months.
  2. Reservations for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates will be as per rules.
  3. Two copies of applications are required to be submitted through proper channel along with a Demand Draft (DD) for Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST) drawn in favour of Director, NITTTR, Chandigarh payable at Chandigarh. The candidate and the concerned Principal/Head of the institution should ensure that the forwarding authority sends application to the office of the Principal Coordinator, QIP (Poly) and Director, National Institute of Technical Teacher´s Training & Research, Sector – 26, Chandigarh – 160 019 latest by 17th May, 2010 (and not after due date).

CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION

  1. The final admission of the candidate will be subject to the clearance and approval of the concerned institution as per its rules and regulations in force at the actual time of admission.
  2. The candidate, if selected, should be:
    1. Relieved to join the programme in time for the session for which he/she will be admitted,
    2. On deputation once admitted, and his/her normal salary and allowances are to be paid by the parent institution.
  3. Conditional recommendation by Principal/Head of institution will not be accepted.
  4. The selected candidate for admission is required to produce the certificate of sponsorship from the Principal/Head of parent institutions and submit the same at the time when he/she joins the course.

Application Forms, Information Brochure, Procedure & General Instructions

  1. Application form, data sheet and information brochure can be downloaded from website of NITTTR, Chandigarh: www.nitttrchd.ac.in / AICTE: www.aicte.ernet.in.
    1. The additional application forms required may be obtained by photocopying.
    2. The applicants are required to submit TWO COPIES of application forms duly filled in through proper channel along with relevant documents/certificates and a Demand Draft (DD) for Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST) drawn in favour of Director, NITTTR, Chandigarh payable at Chandigarh to Dr. Parijat De, Principal Coordinator – QIP (Poly) and Director, National Institute of Technical Teacher´s Training & Research, Sector – 26, Chandigarh – 160 019 latest by 17th May, 2010.

      The filled up application forms should be sent preferably by SPEED POST or COURIER service.

    3. Before mailing the completed forms, please ensure that application form and enclosures are properly fastened with a tag or twined at the left hand top corner.
  2. The candidate must ensure that the forwarding authority sends the applications to the Principal Coordinator well in advance, so that it reaches on or before the last date of submission, i.e., 31st March, 2010.
  3. The candidate can apply to a maximum of three institutions provided subject/areas of specialization are available in the same.
  4. The applicant should make all required entries in the application form and the data sheet completely, clearly and legibly.
  5. Applicant must ensure that the application is complete in all respects and attested copies of the relevant certificates in both the applications along with a Demand Draft (DD) for Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST) drawn in favour of Director, NITTTR, Chandigarh payable at Chandigarh are enclosed as per the checklist, failing which the application will not be considered.
  6. The applicant must enclose the attested copies of the corresponding certificates of the following items with the application forms:
    1. Qualifying Degree and detailed marks card
    2. Teaching experience
    3. Short term courses attended
    4. Copies of research papers published in journals
    5. Certificate about the significant contribution in community development programme, if any
    6. Certificate about preparation of the monographs/writing books/preparing course material, if any.
  7. If the applicant belongs to SC/ST/Physically Handicapped category, please attach a copy of the certificate in prescribed format issued by a competent authority as per Government of India rules.
  8. Signature of the Principal/Head of your institution is required on the application form.
  9. Applications submitted without signature of the appropriate authorities and/or without all the required enclosures will automatically become invalid.
