VIT University Entrance Exam - 2017

VIT university, Vellore has announced the date of its VIT engineering entrance test (VITEEE) for 2017. The entrance exam is supposed to be in the first week of April, 2017.

VIT aspire to establish a system of quality assurance, which evaluates and monitor the quality of education and training imparted to the students.

It has an improved teaching-learning process which has developed the Institute as a center of excellence.

Paper Pattern

The duration of the VITEEE entrance exam will be 2 hours 30 minutes.

All questions will be of objective types :

  • Part-I-Physics
  • Part-II-Chemistry
  • Part-III-Mathematics/Biology
  • PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics)-120 questions (each 40 questions)
  • PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology)-120 questions (each 40 questions).

Eligibility

Candidates born on or after 01st July, 1994 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2017. They should have studied in regular, full-time, formal stream in the school

Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2017 should have secured an aggregate of 60 per cent in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/intermediate).

The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50 per cent for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.

Candidates who have studied in regular, full time and formal education are alone eligible to apply.

Candidates appearing for the 10+2 examination in March/April 2017 are also eligible to apply


Applications

  • The application form can be obtained
  • From the designated branches of Post Offices on cash payment of Rs. 950/-. Details of branches from which applications will be sold is available in the VIT website: www.vit.ac.in
  • By sending a Demand Draft for Rs. 950/- drawn in favour of “VIT University”, payable at Vellore, to the Admission Officer with a request letter containing the full address of the applicant. (or)
  • By handing over a DD for Rs. 950/- in person at VIT University, Vellore (or) at our Chennai Administrative office.

Steps to be followed before filling up of the VITEEE-2017 On-line Application form


  • Before filling the application form, Kindly refer the Information Brochure carefully.

  • Fill all the columns carefully, incomplete application will be rejected.

  • Enter the required details and then click on the 'Submit & Proceed to Printing' Button on the bottom of the page.

  • Please check the content before proceeding for print. The print out should be in A4 size only.

  • The duly filled-in application form to be affixed with colour passport size photograph and Signature.

  • The application form to be sent along with the DD of Rs. 940/- drawn in favour of ‘VIT University’, payable at Vellore for Indian candidates

  • The application form has to be sent to the address of Admissions Officer, VIT University, Vellore-632014, Tamil Nadu, India

  • Kindly note down the application no. generated for any future correspondence.

  • Candidates are advised to take photocopy of the application form.

The time has arrived when the results of a couple of engineering exams for undergraduate admissions this year would be out. And the phase has begun! On May1, VITEEE would be declaring the results April 30.

A merit list of the candidates would be released based on the total marks secured in VITEEE 2017. The results would not be sent by post to the candidates. However, their rank in the test would be intimated to them via SMS through the number provided during the application.

The candidates must consider that there would not be re-totaling or re-grading of the answer sheets. The results provided to the applicants would be final.

The VITEEE 2017 scores would be used for admission to the 14 engineering courses offered by the institute at its two branches-Vellore and Chennai
